2011 – A new year begins

Sunday afternoon was cloudy, misty and occasionally rainy.  The temperature had been in the upper forties for three days, causing the snow from Blizzard 2010 to melt.  The ground was snowy, muddy and squishy underfoot.  Lowland fog formed by mid afternoon and the light was dreamy soft.  A perfect time to visit the marsh along the Parker River near Rowley, Mass.

A moody late afternoon at the marsh along the Parker River near Rowley, Mass.

Late afternoon along the Parker River

The fog starts to roll in encompassing a boater on the Parker River at sunset.

Walking the marsh was a meditation.  Taking pictures was secondary to the experience. We were the only people out except for the boater on the Parker River and a couple with a baby in a backpack.  A quiet and soulful start to a year in which I expect to experience many changes as I focus on living a more creative life.
