Old Oak

Last week I took a drive through the Crane Estate in Ipswich, Mass.   Developed as a gentleman’s farm in the 19th century, there is a massive house up on a hill overlooking the ocean and artifacts which reveal the lifestyle of one of the wealthiest American families.  I found this old, sprawling oak tree up on the hill overlooking the mouth of the Ipswich River.  If only trees could talk.
