A Collection of April Favorites

Spring is such a tease.  Mother Nature enjoys toying with us this time of year especially in the northern climates.  One day it is 70 degrees and the sun starts to feel warm again.  The next day a snow squall blows through and leaves a few inches of snow on the early season flowers.  It’s a great time to be out shooting with the camera because the light is always changing and color comes back to the landscape.

Here are some of my personal favorite images captured in the month of April when the transformation from Winter to Spring really takes off.

Western Skunk Cabbage – the first spot of color in shady, wet places
Balsam Root – Kittitas County, WA
Mojave Desert, CA
Rhodies – Bellevue Botanical Garden, WA
Boston Garden, Boston, MA
Arboretum, Seattle, WA
Copley Square, Boston, MA

And if you live in the mountains, April is still very much Winter.
